2020 and same story-no new fawns

I have 4 does who live close to the house and they are all related.One that is called split ear has been here for 16 years and she was mature when she started coming.Must be in her 20s..Yes deer will get that old if left alone and stay healthy..They were all pregnate and all had there fawns about 2nd week of May.Pretty simple to figure out.You watch thier bellies get big all winter then they disappear for a few days and them they start showing up again for their goodies and they are skinny..Its usually several weeks before the fawns start coming with them but again we wait and wait and no fawns show up.I have several cameras out to see what might be killing them..I have never found the remains of any deer so I rule out sickness and I only have a few of coyote and one bobcat..but this last year I have had a good size bear showing up..Camera showed him once on the deck..I have no Idea why he is here .There is no food of any kind around and he has not bothered the garden so far.I sure hope he is not killing them I would hate to kill him-but I might build a live trap..

Lets get rid of MDC they violate every part of the constitution

I will not go into this too deep because it would take hours to list but the MDC just like all other states is a government in itself using rules over and above our constitution..Lets start with something simple.Think you have the right of liberty and happiness in your own home and property..WRONG
 You had better read the Statues of Missouri 252 and if that does not scare the hell out of you just sign the deed to your property..Theres stuff like coming on your property to search without a warrant or cause..How about those deer heads MDC says they own them..Then of course you are told if its hunting season you must wear Orange even though you are the only person on the property..Whats the sense in covering your camo if you do hunt.You know if you are safe..You are not the bad guy..
The fact is wearing Orange has not made a difference nowhere in hunting accidents.The MDC and all states get there info from themselves.They manufacture it for their own good..The safest state to hunt as always is IDAHO and they have no Orange rules....One year the MDC listed 8 HUNTING accidents.They were ALL guys loading guns in their house or vehicles NOT HUNTING
  Are you even a little bit tired of those people using YOU to make their paychecks and not lifting a finger to help..
 In Missouri the property owner has always had the right to get rid of problem critters but a few days ago they had some article wanting PUBLIC input on letting property owners use night vision to protect their property..If you think I will put up with that BS I still have that bridge to England for sale...
  Once again another Government agency has screwed up and I am paying for it..The Corps of engineers has let the lakes go over the top which means the water is in places it has not been for years and has chased all the raccoons --possums etc up to me!!!!You can only imagine the destruction they do to a garden and fruit trees and fences mean nothing...I will say one thing ..Whoever invented that dog proof trap--Thank-thank-thank you..I can not think of another critter as destructive as a raccoon
and the dam things are so cute when they are babies...
 Now here is something that bothers--NO PISSES OFF a lot of property owners..The MDC uses big cities to pass laws they want.One big city can have more people vote than every county around it and they do not own 1 dam acre of ground but the bleeding hearts will vote something in that effects me and my property NOT THEM..ITS long past due that property owners should be the only one that have a say on what they own and pay taxes on...

Its 2020 I made another year and I am glad I hunt in Missouri

So far no Snow or really bad weather except for all the flooding I get from the corps backing the lake up...Its pretty sad when a state game and fish Department make regulations so bad and confusing national magazines will not put any information about it..The reason being they are so fractured and many the average person does not know what is open or closed.Just for example they have close to 100 different areas open at different times and antler rules.Insane!!! There is no statewide deer hunting.Some parts open some not..You have to buy a license for whatever weapon you use and you can only hunt with that...Non resident license are outrageous..Just an idea of what you are dealing with.These hunting books with the regulations are 11 1/2 in high books..Hunting 135 pages--
Fishing 133 pages Turkey 10 pages--waterfowl 50 pages...You need a license for deer--elk--fishing plus one for certain species like salmon--bottom fish--clams..and a lot more They will sell you a license for things that have closed season for years--like razor clams...and salmon fishing which has only a few areas and very few days you can fish..I will list some of the license cost in another post..
I guess by now you would like to know the state.   ITS Washington state..
 My long time friends and relatives whom all of them fished and hunted including the gals with me for all thru the 70s,80, and into the 90,s when things started going downhill ---not one of them does any fishing or hunting anymore..When we get together all we talk about is what the state has done to destroy the outdoors .. Even the resident licenses are way out of line ..
Now here is another kicker for deer hunting west of the Cascade range ..Almost 100 percent of the land is owned by huge timber companies and they have their licenses and rules where to hunt..Thats about another 50 to 300 dollars depending which one  you go on ..Unless you live in a cave you know Washington is as big as Missouri with many types of terrain to hunt..Last years deer harvest(kill)
was a measly 28,000 like the year before.What does that tell you??

All those deer summertime photos-hunting season they are gone

Well if you are like a lot of people who have a pretty good size acreage and hunt there is a good chance you have game cameras around the place so you can get a pretty good Idea of what type of critters roam it especially at night..Its just amazing the amount of critters that come out at night that you never see in daytime. possums-raccoons-bobcats-bears and more..but since you are a deerhunter its those Bucks that you are interested in just like me.You watch them all summer and then come the first week in September they rub off the velvet and they all turn nocturnal..Then comes October when the main breeding takes place and half your bucks do not show up at all..Now what do you do??All your plans to get that 10 point are gone along with the deer..At my place I had 13 bucks from spikes to 10 points on camera.Come October only 4 were showing up..Except for one nice 8 point that came up by the house with some does to feed for months but never showed up on camera ..I am pretty sure my problem is I border a big chunk of national forest and that's where they go..It does not get hunted because there is no access to it..
  So here it is November and most does are bred so now the bucks have to move a lot to pick up a scent of a hot doe and the leaves are mostly gone..
   Once again sitting in my blind passing up a few deer that I have never seen before and here comes a really nice big bodied 8 point which ends up in my freezer that I have no pictures of and have never seen before...I would say that's the story of about 75% of the deer I get..I would sure like to get the one I see on camera..How about you????

2019 season is about over except for Rich guys

Its hard for me to believe 2019 is just about over except for the special rich people who can afford $1000 bows to hunt deer..I have been on this planet for a long time and its hard for me to swallow the price of everything for hunting.Rifle ammo $20 to $50 a box--I still have my first box of 30-06 from 1970 $1.89 my Mossberg Rifle with a 1.5 to 4 power scope and special work to have magazine load from bottom all told $119..Now I looked at my hunting mags from this month and the rifles they were showing went from $899 to $4100 !!! That's nuts..My binoculars are 8 power with great field of view and fit in the palm of your hand weigh about 3 ounces.Hardly know they are around your neck.They had some called Swarovski that were $3800..just what the hell do you see with them and they weighed a pound and appeared about 8 inches wide..Who and the hell would want that brick around their neck.My little pair are in my jacket and zipped up nice and dry and protected while I am plowing thru the brush..To top it off I was in the big city looking around and the Ford dealer had a F-150 for the hunter that has has it all $104,000  that's not a misprint..and I wonder why the magazines all say they are losing hunters..Is this what it takes for a new hunter to get started????
Then I can see why hunting is going down..Then we throw in this countrys overpopulation and shortage of public places to hunt and the many insane laws..Does not look good..

We need to get rid of MDC they are parasites

The MDC is a parasite government organization that feeds off of property owners and takes credit for everything the property owner does..and we the owners are dumb to let this continue..
    First they are claiming ownership of everything on your property that walks swims or flies,but when you look at what they have done to help you its always nothing...They do not help with the land  or critter management--Its you and me..Then they want to charge you for using your property when you have already paid for that privilege with your property taxes..They take money from people that are using your property to hunt and fish and you get nothing..They get to ride around in new trucks,SUVs,boats,4 wheelers ETC.that you paid for....
    Its the people in the big cities that are making the laws for the rural landowners because the MDC has brainwashed them into believing they are saving all the critters...and land..
    Then a few years ago the MDC sees they are having less hunters so they need more money..So whats the solution..They do like religion does.We will let kiddies hunt even though they can not read or write because as they grow up they will think we know it all and they are our next source of income..but from where I sit its back firing.The kiddies find playing with their electronic gadgets much more appealing than sitting on their ass cold,wet and bored out of their mind so they end up never going hunting again...

Its 2019 and where did my deer go ????

When spring time came and I seen my 4 resident does with fawns I felt so good.As the month of May went by within 2 weeks I suddenly did not see any !!!what the hell is going on ??
So I put out all my cameras to see if maybe we had a coyote problem or maybe the bear I see once in awhile.I watch the skies for buzzards so maybe they can lead me to a carcass but the only times they did it was a coon or possum no deer..Even my nose is pretty good at picking up the smell of death but nothing..So here it is the end of October and I do not have one picture of a coyote or bear but I did have one picture of a bears mouth on the camera but none of his body..weird.Thousands of pictures and not one coyote..So I have zero fawn crop for next year..Over the years I usually see 7 or 8 things  seem to be changing and I have no Idea why..
    As for the bucks once again weird..Up until the first week of October I had several nice 8 and 10 pointers and then the week of the full moon peak of the rut(yeah I know game dept still telling you its November) not one of them has showed up on camera again but instead a dozen spikes,forks, and one 8 point all of which I have never seen before show up..We will just have to wait until November when the frustration period kicks in and they really start to move to see if they just went looking for the girls..I sure hope a lot more leaves come off they are really hanging on this year..
